Brittany Booker Carter, Agent, Booker Albert Literary Agency

YA, NA, Adult

Brittany is looking for: Novels that keep her up at night and transport her into the pages. In YA and NA she is looking for well-written contemporary and paranormal romances. In NA she is looking for LOTS of sexual tension, and a sexy demanding hero never hurt anybody! As for adult works, she’s looking for witty contemporary, and slow burning friends to lovers’ romance.

She’s always on the hunt for rich characters and unique plots. She is a big sucker for happy endings. (She doesn’t represent books without a HEA, they make her sad. She believes every person deserves a Happily-Ever-After. Maybe it’s just the Disney Princess inside?)
She also has a passion for books set in the south. Bring on those big ole’ cowboys, ladies. I’ll take any man with a slow southern drawl!

About Brittany and the Booker Albert Literary Agency: Brittany Booker Carter is a Literary Agent and co-founder of The Booker Albert Literary Agency. She has worked with Marisa Corvisiero during her time at the Lori Perkins agency and the Corvisiero Literary Agency. She has a B.A. in English and a minor in journalism from The University of Arkansas at Monticello. She has working knowledge of Japanese and Spanish.

Dawn Dowdle, Agent, Blue Ridge Literary Agency

Romance, Mystery

Dawn is looking for: Currently I only represent romances and mysteries. I am especially looking for Amish romances and cozy mysteries. That said, I’m also looking for most other types of romances. I represent from sweet romances to very sexy romances. The story is the most important element to me. If the story pulls me in, I don’t care what the level of heat is. I am always looking for strong cozy mysteries with a female protagonist and a strong hook. I will consider other types of mysteries and suspense.  I do not represent any fantasy or scifi of any type. I also do not represent any type of YA.

About Dawn and the Blue Ridge Literary Agency: Dawn Dowdle began Blue Ridge Literary Agency, LLC in Virginia in 2009. Prior to establishing her agency, she was a freelance copy editor.  She started her agency to help authors, especially newer authors, and represents mostly mysteries (including cozy mysteries and also suspense) and romances (no erotica). Murder at Redwood Cove by Janet Finsilver is a recent USA Today Bestseller. Some books she represents:  Something’s Knot Kosher by Mary Marks, Hearse and Gardens by Kathleen Bridge, Two Suitors for Anna by Molly Jebber, A Seal’s Courage by JM Stewart, Clairvoyant and Present Danger by Lena Gregory and Booked 4 Murder by JC Eaton. Ella Marie is looking for: We love fiction with superb writing with a voice that jumps off the page and a twisted or colorful plot that compels us to keep reading is a must. We look for a unique voice and a strong protagonist full of attitude. We like dark and intense but we won’t turn away something that’s a little on the lighter side. We enjoy a touch of humor, and we would never turn away something sexy. Profound young adult with a strong male or female protagonist. A whacky, funny, crazy, or thought-provoking voice will draw attention. We look for entertaining story lines that deal with tough life issues. We look for big writing that remains fast-paced.

We are a passionate, hands-on, editorially-focused agency. We work closely with our writers in developing manuscripts and proposals for submission. Jessica Errera, Agent, Jane Rotrosen Agency

Commercial Women’s Fiction, YA, Contemporary Romance, Mystery, Suspense, Historical Fiction, Mainstream Fiction

Jessica is looking for: Commercial women’s fiction with a fresh and fun hook, all genres of YA (especially diverse stories), contemporary romance, mysteries and suspense, the occasional historical fiction, and anything that might be read in a day on the beach. Of course, a great voice always peaks my interest and I love being made to laugh or cry while reading. I am particularly drawn to family or sister stories, imaginative retellings, anything with a culture/travel/food element, and anything to do with theatre.

About Jessica and the Jane Rotrosen Agency: Jessica Errera was born and raised on Long Island and credits her love of reading to the built-in book club that is her large family. Jess attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she earned a BA in English and Dramatic Arts before returning home to New York. She has been with the Jane Rotrosen Agency since 2014 and couldn’t imagine anything better than spending the day surrounded by books.

Jordy Albert, Agent, The Booker Albert Literary Agency

MG, YA, Contemporary Romance, Historical Romance

Jordy is looking for: Fun, witty middle grade, and young adult contemporary, sci-fi, and fantasy (romance is a plus). She’s also looking for smart, sexy contemporary and historical romance (Jordy definitely has a soft spot for a fantastic Regency). She’s drawn to strong, intelligent characters (snarky, but still likable). Please note that while it isn’t necessarily a deal breaker, she tends to shy away from novels with trigger topics, such as suicide and any type of abuse. Jordy is NOT accepting picture books, non-fiction or screenplays at this time.

About Jordy and the Booker Albert Agency: Jordy Albert is a Literary Agent and co-founder of The Booker Albert Literary Agency. She holds a B.A. in English from Pennsylvania State University, and a M.A. from Millersville University of Pennsylvania. She has worked with Marisa Corvisiero during her time at the L. Perkins Agency and the Corvisiero Literary Agency.

Kelly Peterson, Junior Literary Agent, Corvisiero Literary Agency

MG, YA, NA/Adult

Kelly is looking for: Kelly represents MG, YA, NA, and Adult. In MG, she seeks adventure, fantasy, and sci-fi with a lot of humor. In YA, she seeks all sub-genres with an emphasis on fantasy, sci-fi, and diverse voices. In NA and Adult, she seeks contemporary romance that makes her sob uncontrollably or laugh without remorse. She specifically loves strong and witty voices, independent female characters, and a lot of action.

About Kelly: Kelly has spent her whole life with a book in her hands. Whether it’s from reading, writing, or day dreaming, her mind has always been up in the clouds wishing her fantasy stories would come true. Down on earth, somewhere between reading during science class, writing while she should be sleeping, and spending her social hours pretending she wasn’t actually a closet nerd, she finally realized that her life would be a lot happier if she just accepted her love of books.

A recent graduate of West Chester University, she earned her B.S.Ed. in English and went to pursue a career in teaching. Little did she know that despite all of her hard work, the environment she ended up in would be one she disliked. After taking a step back and reassessing her life, she realized that maybe she should have focused on the world of literary agents and publishing a long time ago.

When not working as a book nerd, Kelly can be found dancing, hiking, riding horses, perfecting her yoga technique, blogging, and writing her own manuscript. If you’re lucky, you might even be able to catch her flying around the world, saving lives. She is superwoman after all!
