Hi! I’m Nuzhat - a former professional editor with more than a decade of experience in entertainment journalism. I recently pivoted to writing children’s picture books (with one MG manuscript in progress), and it has been a blast (though querying isn’t so fun). New to this site and looking forward to getting to know everyone.
Hello! I'm so glad I found out about Pitchfest from the KidLit Facebook page just in time!
I write picture books, children's poetry, and young adult novels. I'm always happy to find another place to connect with other writers. Writing communities are hard to come by in tiny rural towns!
I am a children's book author from Virginia and glad to be here! My debut book, "I'd Rather Be Me", was published in September 2024. Good luck to everyone participating in Pitchfest 2025!
Hi! I am excited to be here. I am a full-time ghostwriter based in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula looking to publish my own works. I love writing heartbreakingly beautiful stories that fall somewhere between magical realism and speculatively bent, usually exploring trauma, what it means to be human, and other existential questions.
Hello! I'm new here. I'm a uni student from London studying Finance, but I've always loved writing so much more and wished I studied it. I'm currently working on a YA Dark Academia novel. So excited to be a part of this community!
Hello from NY! I found out about PitchFest from the Courage to Create Community and I'm excited to participate! I've written and queried a few novels, all YA sci-fi or fantasy, but the novel I'm querying now is YA/Adult Crossover Fantasy. Hoping to land an agent for this novel, and for my writing career!
Hi, I'm Ann McCallum Staats. I have a soon-to-be published website and soon-to-be released new book called Fantastic Flora: The World's Biggest, Baddest, and Smelliest Plants (Candlewick/ MIT Kids Press, May 2025). I've been writing for awhile, mostly nonfiction and am newly agented by Jennifer Unter. Yay! I'm completely passionate about kidlit and am glad to join another community of kidlit lovers.
Hello from a new member! I am a PhD geoscientist who writes character-driven picture books that use adventure and/or humor to spark curiosity about the workings of the natural world. I write to engage young girls especially, creating stories that show it’s OK to speak out, step up, go bold…and defy convention.
Just heard about SavvyAuthors for the first time today and since my manuscript is ready, decided to dive in and get started. I'll be spending the weekend preparing my pitch!
I'm a children's author and retired teacher. I lost my agent this past summer and am interested in Pitchfest. I sold my fifth book through a twitter pitch before I was agented so I believe in these opportunities!
In a plot twist, I suddenly became an author. Father of three adult children, one grandchild, and husband to the most incredible woman ever, I've relinquished my Information Technology career to become an unemployed writer of great novels. I'm delighted at every moment of writing, and very excited for this chapter of my life.
I am an author/illustrator and am interested in finding out more about the Spring Pitchfest. Even though I am agented, I am hoping that it is ok to post a pitch for editors?
Looking forward to learning more about this group.
I found this site via the comments section at QueryTracker. I'm excited to learn more. As luck would have it, I scheduled vacation next week so I can focus on PitchFest.
