Class Format
Our pitches take place on our site behind a log in. These are not viewable without logging into our site and you cannot post without a valid account (which is totally free to sign up for).
  • Each agent and editor posts information about them, their organization, and what they are currently interested in acquiring.
    • This includes a list of "Currently Looking for" tags.
    • You MUST include at least one tag from the agent or editor's request post.
    • If you do not include a tag, your post will be removed until the tag is added
  • If your story meets their requirements, you post your three-line pitch as a comment to their post.
  • The agent or editor will either reply directly to your comment or, after the pitches close, provide a list of pitches to SavvyAuthors they are interested in.
  • We publish this list on the SavvyAuthors site within two weeks of the end of the pitchfest.

This is always such a great event. The instructions are clear, and it's so easy to participate. I really appreciate that it's free! Thank you.

Thanks so much, Carol! We truly appreciate your kind feedback! :)
I love participating in Pitchfest and greatly appreciate the effort you go through to make it available and so easy to use. In the future, I would ask that you re-double your efforts to get agents who have not previously participated in the event. Preferably ones who would be interested in my stories.

Thanks for your feedback, Charles. We work hard to recruit publishing professionals for every event.
Amazing! Thank you! I was so excited to be able to pitch to an agent who was on my list, but closed to queries in QT. She asked me to query! So incredible. Thank you for putting this together.

Thanks so much, AngelaCrystal! Our fingers are crossed for you!
Love this event! This fall was my second Pitchfest, and it was just as great as the first one—well-organized, encouraging, and successful.

Thank you for the feedback! We truly appreciate your positive feedback.
This was my first ever pitch event, and I felt like it was well organized, structured clearly and I felt like I knew what was required of me in every step.

Thank you so much for your feedback! Congratulations on your first pitch event. We wish you the best of luck with your pitches!
I really like this event. It's a great opportunity to make direct contact with publishing opportunities and to see what agents and editors are currently looking for. My only real issue with the event was the tags system for pitching. I think things would be way more efficient if it worked like pitching on Twitter where tags are clearly defined key words. As in, the editors/agents should have a clear list of tags they're looking for on their posts so writers can clearly match their projects to appropriate tags. In this event, it felt like I was negotiating about whether or not my project fits the tags for an editor/agent or not, because they were often more conceptual than clear descriptor tags.

Thanks for your feedback, TM.
I like the format of the pitching and the opportunity to approach agents in another format than just querying them.

Thank you, J.M! We appreciate your review!
The bookmarking feature doesn’t seem to take me directly to my pitch only to the thread, which isn’t that meaningful. Further, the instructions to remove it so that notifications didn’t keep coming in didn’t make sense. The overall directions for the event also made it seem like each agent or editor would have specific instructions listed on their links, which was not the case, so this could be clarified to note that only special wants would be denoted. Other than these items, I thought this first step of the process was excellent, and I really appreciate it!

Hi Amy, Thanks for your review. We will be posting all the pub pro requests once we receive them. Many pub pros will be sharing a list with us and we will share. This will include all the information to send the request. Thanks!
This was a well organized and stress-free event. I enjoyed pitching here vs on social media which is very overwhelming for my neurodivergent brain. Thank you for helping authors be "seen" :)

Thanks so much, Lori! We appreciate your feedback!
Well-run as always. Rules clearly stated. I appreciate the prompts ie. Word count, genre etc. I persuaded my brother to pitch! Thanks for the opportunity.

Thanks so much, Karla! We appreciate your feedback. Good luck to your brother. :)
It was wonderful, thank you! The only thing that was a bit confusing was when it said must add looking for tags- because the agents didn’t explicitly list anything called a tag/hashtag. I think it’s clearer if you say “must list at least one category/genre/key word the agent lists in their bio. Or have each agent list Looking for tags: (and then the writers can choose from there).

Thanks for your feedback! We will look into tweaking the wording to make it easier to understand. Thanks for participating.
