Erica Obey pursued an academic career specializing in the women folklorists of the nineteenth century, before she decided she’d rather be writing the stories herself. In addition to scholarly work, she is the author of five novels -- including the award-winning The Curse of the Braddock Brides, The Horseman’s Word, and the forthcoming Dazzlepaint. She is currently hard at work on her Watson & Doyle series of updated cozies featuring a female programmer and the AI program she has created to write mysteries. Erica has served as Chair of the Best Novel Committee for the 2018 Edgars and currently serve as the President of the MWA-NY chapter. She hold a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature and taught college-level classes on Arthurian romance, fantasy, and mystery fiction before becoming a full-time writer.
