Digital publishing of ebooks and print-on-demand paperbacks has revolutionized publishing. Individuals and small publishers can now publish directly to the reader through online bookstores. The primary force behind this has been Amazon and its Kindle Direct Publishing. Today, publishing a book is as "easy" as uploading a manuscript to Kindle.
However, many people think that formatting an ebook or paperback manuscript for publication is complicated or highly technical, involving a lot of computer coding. At one time this was true. Even up to a few years ago, formatting print books using a Microsoft Word template was a tedious process.
THIS IS NO LONGER TRUE. Today, using the Kindle Create add on for Microsoft Word, you can create a manuscript compatible with both print and ebook publishing in just a few minutes.
In this course, we take you through the process of publishing to Kindle using Kindle create from downloading the software to uploading your final manuscript.
All course materials will be available at the beginning of the course. You will work at your own pace with the instructor available via email, phone text, messenger, and through the discussion board for assistance. You will receive feedback within two business days. You will also have access to the instructor for 30 days after the conclusion of the course.
You will interact with your fellow students using the discussion board. Periodically, the instructor will post updates, tips, and assignments. She will also be monitoring the board for questions.
Those who complete all the assignments for this course with a passing score will receive a $5.00 Amazon gift card and a free e-copy of my Creative Calisthenics: A Workout for the Writer’s Imagination. (Note: Assignments must be received on time, meet minimum quality standards after any revision suggested, and resubmitted by the end of the course.)
