Welcome to Find Your Crew, where the mission is to bring like-minded, genre-specific writers together in the hopes that they will forge strong relationships, strong newsletter lists, and happy collective readers. Think newsletter swaps, long phone conversations about your plot, and shared information on the latest promotional opportunity. Writing doesn't have to be a solitary endeavor. In fact, it shouldn't be!
Finding your crew is a bit like dating. You slowly get to know the other person and find things you have in common (genre, heat level, tropes). But unlike the popular saying, when you're trying to find your crew, opposites NEVER attract. It wouldn’t be beneficial to you as an author. You have to ask yourself, “Would my readers like their book?” <--- This is THE MOST important question to keep in mind as you look for your crew members.
This is not a structured class. This will be a laid-back forum where members are encouraged to interact with each other. There will be threads calling authors to join in sprints in the chatroom. There will be threads where authors are talking about their books - the ones they write AND the ones they are reading. Imagine this class like the breakfast table at a writing conference - and sometimes the bar.
