PREMISEPLOTDENISCH
A class designed to take the idea and opening scenes of a story and turn it into a full-fledged finished product. Using a method involving character needs and oppositions, writers will learn to churn out a list of ideas, create detailed scenes from those ideas, and figure out the best ending their story needs.
Syllabus
Day One - Creating Wants and Needs from your Premise
Learn to use the pieces of your plot in your premise to create a detailed want and need chart for your main character.

Day Two - Create Blockades for you Characters
Using your wants/needs chart, create a list of plausible actions that can be used to move your story and characters forward

Day Three - Creating Detailed Scenes
Taking your list of blockades, use three simple questions (how a scene unfolds, how it develops plot, and how it affects character) to create detailed scenes that will support your story goals.

Day Four - Mini Plots
Learn to recognize when a scene is really a mini plot, and use past exercises to create full arcs.

Day Five - Side Plots
Learn how to fill in the holes and create appropriate side plots that will emphasize character growth

Day Six - Endings
Look at how your scenes have affected characters, and put it together with what they want and need. Form this information, figure out which ending will best suit your story, if you don't have it figured out already.

This was an amazing class. It helped me so much, it gave me clarity. I loved that the instructor gave examples of her own which made it easier for me to understand the process. The pace of the class was also really good, I didn't feel overwhelmed as I do sometimes.

Anna's comments and insights were really helpful and encouraging.

I love that she made it feel like a real workshop and got everyone involved. I really enjoyed seeing everyone's premises develop into a story over the course of the workshop. We had such a talented bunch of writers (I wanted to read everyone's story, hehe)

Anna is an amazing teacher! I hope she continues to teach here because I would love to take more of her classes =)
