The Winter Holidays! They tend to have you running around like a chicken with its head cut off (and if you haven’t been on a farm where this occurs, suffice to say, it’s weird that they do that). There’s never enough time to get things done…or so it seems.
But it’s the perfect time of year to get ideas for stories set during the holidays!
Why? Well, because everything you’re doing…your friends, co-workers, and family are doing…feeds a plot right into your hands!
Now, it’s true you don’t have much time, but it’s also true that you need a respite from the holiday madness of shopping, cooking, get-togethers, religious events, school events – and it doesn’t matter which holiday you celebrate, either. How about letting a one-week workshop give you a break…at least for a short time for five days…to fuel your imagination, to get some ideas down on paper or in a computer doc. You’ll be making those resolutions dealing with writing in the new year very shortly. Let’s get something ready for the pipeline.
Something that’s fresh in your mind – like a holiday story written with the next holiday season in mind!
Join me for 5 days of idea flinging, plot ideas, different takes on what can be done with a holiday season story. They don’t have to all be romantic comedies, after all. There are other genres and subgenres to play out at the close of the year, too!

- Class Format
- Savvy Authors' workshops are held on a forum: a bulletin board based system. You will receive a reminder notice one day prior to the start of the workshop that includes instructions on how to access the workshop forum. If you have not received instructions by the day the workshop begins, please check your spam filter.
The forum will be available the morning (EST) of the day the workshop starts and will remain accessible to all participants thereafter. You will also be given simple instructions on how to create a PDF of all your discussions along with our privacy and data retention policy.
