Many aspiring novelists know deep inside that they have a great story to tell, but it can be hard to transfer that feeling into meaningful scenes and chapters.
In this intensive, writers will use an approach to writing that begins with developing a deep understanding of a character and then allowing that character to drive the plot. We do this through a series of assignments that reveal the character's dreams and insecurities, and then put the character into a situations that challenge those dreams or elicit those insecurities. Writers will come away from the intensive with a stronger understanding of their main character, and will have written at least two passages that can serve as the backbone of a scene or chapter.
