Nobody's perfect, especially our characters! After all, they need room to change. In fact, the imperfect protagonist makes the three-dimensional story possible by making "character change" propel the events.

The character moving through the external plot is a story of only two dimensions. The internal journey, the process towards psychological or emotional or life change, provides the depth that takes this story into three dimensions.

In this interactive workshop, we’ll explore how you can determine your own character’s journey, and use it to develop a meaningful opening, a powerful sequence of events, and a dramatic and satisfying ending.
Class Format
Savvy Authors' workshops are held on a forum: a bulletin board based system. You will receive a reminder notice one day prior to the start of the workshop that includes instructions on how to access the workshop forum. If you have not received instructions by the day the workshop begins, please check your spam filter.

The forum will be available the morning (EST) of the day the workshop starts and will remain accessible to all participants thereafter. You will also be given simple instructions on how to create a PDF of all your discussions along with our privacy and data retention policy.

Alicia Rasley as always has presented a well-planned class that has helped me in writing my stories! Especially since I'm starting a new book. Her tips and the way she has me think through my character is great~
