The Source Whisperer: Research Beyond Google and AI will give attendees the knowledge and tools to go beyond search engine and AI results. You will discover different online resources, divide fact from fiction, determine currency and credibility, and more. Your readers will thank you.

How will this improve a writer's life?

This workshop will allow writers to write clearly, authoritatively, and credibly in their books. They will learn how to strengthen their research skills and how to find and use trustworthy online resources. Lastly, they will learn about various research management apps, many of which are free, that they can use to house their research.

Lectures are posted M/W/F, and there is homework each week except for week 4, where the lecture is only on Monday. A copy of the slide deck will be made available at the end of the class with all the resources discussed.

About Lisa:

Lisa Rabey is many things: a writer, a librarian, an instructor, and a consumer of trashy TV and heaving bosom books. Her work has been published in tiny wren lit, Anodyne Magazine, and others. Since the 1990s, Lisa has taught classes on everything from information literacy to using the internet. Lisa lives in N. Michigan with her husband (who she sometimes likes) and their persnickety pug (who sometimes likes her). Her favorite Elizabeth Bennet is Keira Knightley.
