Write Through Fright By NY Times Bestselling Author, Kimberley Troutte

Almost all writers have suffered some sort of fear associated with writing (fear of failure, sophomore book syndrome, impostor's syndrome...). Successful authors have learned to write through the fear. You can, too.

This class will help you see what you are afraid of and give you tips and exercises to learn how to knock that monster aside so that you can write those happy endings we all crave.

By the end of the class you will know your characters better, have a working road map (synopsis) to guide you while you write your book, and bravery tips.

Week 1: We will address what scares us. The class will take a deep peak inside ourselves and label the monsters that are trying to keep us from reaching our goals. Sometimes, by realizing we are not alone we grow stronger.

Week 2: We will attack the common fears (that trust me, most, if not all authors have experienced at some time) with exercises to bring them down to size.

Exercise 1: Get to know our characters better. No matter where you are in your book--the beginning, middle, or end--you can always step back and get to know them better by getting them to speak to YOU. Don't be surprised if we unlock secrets that the characters may be hiding from YOU

Discuss what we've learned.

Week 3:
Creating an emotional synopsis (a road map) as a tool for YOU. I will critique some of the synopsis-es and give individual pointers.

Take a section of our story and write it deeper. Get inside our characters. When YOU are in your story, the outside world falls away. Do your characters care about your author's impostor's syndrome? Nope. They care about surviving and getting the love of their life to walk into the sunset with them.

Try a few tips to write faster and without fear

Wrap up. The class members will be able to contact me offline any time they wish to share or ask questions.
