- Syllabus
- Often times, race and chase scenes in the movies are too fast and way too furious. In this workshop, learn everything you need to know to strand your character on the side of the road, make a car go up in flames, accurately write race or chase scenes, and get the feel of a mechanic’s life so you can write a sexy, grease and grit covered alpha hero of your own. You will also learn the basics of cars, the tools mechanics frequently use, and the correct lingo. Have a specific question?
You’ll have the opportunity to ask author, gearhead, and drag-racer Kim Meyer and Senior Master Certified Mechanic and drag-racer Todd Vandenberghe questions during the Q&A session. At the end of class, submit a 1-2 page scene you’d like them to check for accuracy.
