Alice Tremaine is a board certified chaplain and Advance Care Planning Coordinator at Baptist Health, KY and IN. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Association of Professional Chaplains, and is an ordained Baptist minister. She has earned a Master of Divinity from McAfee School of Theology, and a Master of Studies in Law from Wake Forest University, and is an Adjunct Instructor for the University of the Cumberlands.
A native of Vitoria, Brazil, Alice resides in Corbin, KY with her husband, two sons (ages 9 and 12), and two goldendoodles (Rocket and Ruby). While she misses the beaches from her native hometown, Alice enjoys hiking with her family in Appalachia, and wearing big hats to watch the Kentucky Derby every year.
Alice has written on the subjects of hospice and palliative care for professional publications such as NewsLine (former publication of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization) and the Baptist theological journal The Review & Expositor. In 2019, Alice presented a TEDx Talk about being a Brazilian living in rural Appalachia.
Currently, Alice is a member of Mary Adkins’ The Book Incubator writing program, a comprehensive 12-month writing program.
