I am a happy (ecstatic) young (I wish) wife and mother of 3 incredible (exceptional) children. My husband is the ideal knight in shining armor who whisked me, a single mother, and my son up onto his horse and road us straight into the sunset (Texas).
Reality check? So maybe there was no horse, but I've already admitted I'm a writer so clearly I make stuff up.
The real story…
On a cold winter’s night in December a few…cough, cough… years ago my young son and I were trapped in a small apartment while he recovered from pneumonia. Disney’s 101 Dalmatians literally played 24 hours a day for 8 days straight. We had just recently moved into our new little home and owned no Christmas decorations yet and, with him being so ill, I couldn’t go out to get any. My knight whisked in on a cold evening with a freshly cut Christmas tree and all the trimmings. He spent a few hours with us while he decorated our living room to help brighten our spirits. Over the years, I became a bride; we added two beautiful little girls to our family; and yes, we did move to Texas. Of course, our Christmas decorations have changed as well, with one exception. A little Santa from our original Christmas together has remained with us through thick and thin. Every year he is placed by my husband on the top front of our tree, right underneath our lovely angel.
