I have no problem writing novels. Short stories are easy. Articles for my blogs flow like rain during a monsoon.
When it comes to writing about myself – that's different.
Dozen of drafts – re-drafts, and if I wasn't writing on a computer, waste baskets filled with screwed up paper balls, would be the result of my trying to say something interesting about me.
It's not that I'm not interesting, I've led a very interesting life, and I have had interesting careers, it's just that I'm no good at telling you about me.
I read loads of promo guff like – Susan Smith is a wonderful/great/superb - blurb blurb or Susan Smith lives in a world of literary something or other/imaginative/deeply meaningful/ - blurb blurb.
You've read it too. I'm thinking you don't want to read it here. I'm thinking tell 'em something they won't be bored with, and skip over the rest.
So here goes.
Spiritualist Medium.
I've seen spirit, ghosts, call them what you like, since early childhood. It was only much later in my life that I trained as a medium, and began working on the 'platform' in Spiritualist Churches.
I could write a book about my experiences, and probably will.
Clinical Hypnotherapist - retired.
I trained as a Clinical Hypnotherapist in my mid-fifties. It's not that I didn't do anything before, quite the opposite - but if I was to write about all the things I have done in my life, including setting up and running my own delicatessen, catering company, and all sorts of other things....this bio would be way too long.
Novelist.
When I hit sixty - I had my first novel published - The Warlock's Woman. A paranormal story centred around a psychic. There's demons, immortal soldiers, and of course, an evil, and I mean evil, Warlock.
A year later my second novel Half Blood was published. Not your usual vamp romp, my vampires are aliens from a distant planet.
My latest novel – The Spanky Bottom Consortium - Is a deliciously, sexual romp, filled with outrageous characters with no morals, plenty of greed and ready to just about anything to get what they want.
I also lived for several years in Spain, learnt the language, and spent a lot of time rescuing animals. I came back to England, bringing with me two cats, and two dogs.
