Karen Allendoerfer
Karen is a PhD Neuroscientist, who wrote her thesis on growth factors in the development of the brain. She has worked for many years in the biotech industry and academia on potential new therapeutic strategies for brain diseases, and is currently changing careers to focus on K-12 science education and outreach. She is also an avid amateur violinist and spends her spare time with her family traveling, geocaching, and reading science fiction. She attended the Clarion West fiction writing workshop in the summer of 1987.
