I write fantasy, dark fantasy, and romance. My Silver Web trilogy (Eolyn, Sword of Shadows, and Daughter of Aithne) has been favorably reviewed by Publishers Weekly and Kirkus Reviews. Daughter of Aithne recently received the 2017 OZMA Award for fantasy fiction from Chanticleer Reviews. I'm also a recipient of the Andrews Forest Writer’s Residency and a winner of the Women on Writing Flash Fiction Contest. My short stories in Zahir, Adventures for the Average Woman, 69 Flavors of Paranoia, and World Jumping.
An ecologist by trade, I lived many years in Costa Rica before returning to my home town of Kansas City, where I now work as a biology professor. My pastimes include camping, hiking, music, international travel, and flamenco dance.
