Support your fellow writers! Chance to win 3 workshops on us!
Starting now until April 28th, everyone who gifts a sub to their fellow Savvy member is going to get entered into a drawing to win 3 workshops on us. AND! Each gifted sub counts as extra entries. So 10 gifted subs = 10 entries.
Someone very smart once told me that good writers write every day. They write if it's crappy or wonderful they just keep writing. Sometimes the stories just come out on their own. I was talking with a writer friend today and we were laughing because sometimes in spite of all the planning and plotting the characters seem to have a mind of their own. LOL.
Honestly, I don't know. Some stories I have written seem to need spreadsheets and story boards and others just come out. I would say write every day and write on different projects. Write completed stories and then let them sit for a bit before you start to edit. You can see the problems easier if you have some distance from the work. Then when you start to edit, don't edit the words, but edit the story. Think about what logically should happen next, not what you have written. Often when I am stuck in a story it's because I am not going where the story needs to go.
Read what you want to write and read a lot. Take classes that interest you. They may be too advanced or less but you will always learn something.
Hang out with writers. We are a friendly lot if a bit introverted.
