Picking slang and slurs for a fantasy novel
Sorry if this isn't the right forum for this topic. I'm curious how other writers in fantasy (and sci fi!) choose slang for their world. I've noticed a trend in YA and crossover where everyone just uses modern-day words like "fuck," to great response. But I think it's a missed opportunity to...- norabarnacle007

Querying is a struggle for reasons I didn't expect.
Querying publishers or agents is a numbers game; fantasy in particular has a high bar because it's a crowded genre and there's literally thousands a year for agents and publishers to choose from. 100 queries is a good metric to shoot for, but I'm not sure you'll even find 100 to query if you...- norabarnacle007
