Overcoming Writer’s Block
Introduction

Do you struggle from writer’s block on and off in your writing career? Do you find that no matter what you do, once you start experiencing writer’s block it doesn’t seem to go away? If you experience the debilitating effects of writer’s block, this month's lessons are for you.

No writer is completely immune from writer’s block. Even the best known novelists and writers experience brief moments or longer periods when the words simply won’t come. Writers can get stuck at many different levels, from practical to reflective to emotional. We will be examining all of these levels in this four week workshop. This workshop will offer concrete ways for you to get writing again and to become more connected writing and writing projects.

Not only will you learn how to overcome writer’s block through practical exercises and assessments that you can perform for yourself, but you will have a reference guide by the end of the course. During the workshop, you will receive worksheets and rubrics to help you overcome writer’s block. In addition, you will receive a free e-book on The ABC’s of Overcoming Writer’s Block. This book will help you after you leave this course to keep writer’s block from rearing its ugly head in your life.

Okay, now for a few of the practical ways to make the most of this workshop. Each week, you will have a learning guide, some handouts, along with an assignment that you will submit to me by Friday. I strongly encourage you to do these assignments in a timely manner so that I can offer feedback and so that you can learn where you are in your writing career. This self-knowledge will help you tremendously as the workshop progresses.

Also, you will have a chance to do a lot of soul searching. You may want to purchase a special writer’s journal so that you could jot down where you are now as a writer, and where you will be later. But in addition, between the beginning and end, you will have a lot of time to reflect on some of your current writing habits and vulnerabilities as a writer. This self-knowledge will make it easier for you to avoid such situations in the future and to be the most successful writer that you are capable of becoming.

So, are you ready to overcome writer’s block for good? Fasten your seat belt for a marvelous eye opening four weeks.

See you in Lesson 1
