Hi all,

We are past the middle of the month. I hope that your goals are getting done as planned. If not, make sure that you schedule what wasn't done in the first half of the month into your schedule for the second half of the month.

On that note, what are your goals for the week of January 21st? Please post them under this thread.

Stay tuned for a new challenge that is starting up January 21st for two weeks. I will post it in the forum below the lecture thread.

Take care, and have a great week!

Normally my goal is to work on my edits and writing exercises on M-W-F from ca 8:15 to 13:00, giving me somewhere around 10 hours for the week. With MLK day tomorrow though (no school), I have to revise that strategy. On top of that, I've got some client work that's come in, so I'll need to devote time to that too. Therefore, my revised goal for next week is to try out a new schedule, where I'm up and at my keyboard by 6:30 a.m. so that I can get in 90 minutes of writing time in the morning every day this week. By doing that, I can get 7.5 hours in (and write each day). If I can squeeze another hour in on Wed and Thursday, then I'll still have my 10ish hours.

My specific goals are as follows:
Mon: Complete Papa Alex character revisions, pgs 42-163; add to blog social media content
Tues: Complete Papa Alex character revisions, pgs 200-273
Wed: Finish up any outstanding character revisions; Do LeGuin's exercise 5: Chastity; add to blog social media content
Thurs: Research submission options for short story (LeGuin's exercise 4 part 2: repetition) and brainstorm next blog article
Fri: Begin to plot revisions on nature of the magic realm

I finished shortening my synopsis for the blurb form and am hoping to send out the blurb form today.
I think I've un-knotted my middle, so I'm planning to write at least twenty minutes/500 words per day during nap-times this week. Ideally, I'd close out my third act this week (four act structure) and finish the draft next week.
