Hi all,

What are your writing goals for this, the last week of January. February 1st is on Friday.

Therefore, under this thread please list this week's goals and also your goals for February.

Just a reminder that I am sprinting from 11 am EST to 4 pm EST Monday through Friday. I hope you will join me to write and bring those word numbers up and complete your manuscripts. You can also revise during this time too, or revise for an hour and write for an hour. Do whatever you need to be productive and at your best.

There is really no better way to get your writing goals completed that I know. So, please take advantage of the sprints.

Take care, and have a wonderful and productive week!

I'd have to hit almost 4k a day to end the draft by the end of the month, which was my plan before I got stuck in the middle.

That said, I'm going to aim for 1500 words per day for the next week during nap time.
Non writing goals are a morning stretch session and running or biking twice during the week. I know that's not writing related goals per se, but hey, accountability.
My other writing goal, will be to continue outlining the next book in series (I started the outline a couple months ago, and then waited until I got further along in this book).
Also, I need to figure out a space I can claim for myself because I don't really have one right now. I used to really enjoy writing on the bus and on campus when I was a student, but I don't have those areas now and I don't have a space of my own at home right now.

My goal is to working on establishing regular writing habit while working on my novella. Then once I get that established, I will work on increasing writing time per session and word count.
My goals are not very large but I'm starting small in order to make them more achievable.

Sorry to get to this so late this week! Thanks to a client project, i was having a hard time focusing ahead for this week, so I did one set of goals for Mon-Wed:
Mon: read the homework and do some work figuring out other blogs to cross post past articles to
Tues: plot out revisions on Andie-Max relationships
Wed: brainstorm new blog article ideas and complete a writing exercise

The good news is that the client project was submitted late last night, so now I can focus on the way ahead (i.e. today and tomorrow)
Thurs: do the homework for this week; continue plotting Andie-Max relationship revisions
Fri: finish plotting Andie-Max revisions

Oh, and despite the third day in a row of school disruptions, and the last minute chaos of getting the client's deliverable ready, I've gotten up and gotten my writing time in each morning. And in fact, I'm pretty sure that is what has been keeping me sane!

I think you also asked for goals for Feb. It took me a little while to be able to wrap my head around the fact that Feb is TOMORROW, but with a planner and a little organization, here are my three goals for Feb:

1. Finish the revisions on "The Truth About Four-Leaf Clovers". I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. It's a long tunnel, but i think I can clear it by the end of Feb - and BOY will that feel good!

2. Draft a query letter for TA 4 LCs

3. Write a quality blog post on 'writing through loss' based on an interview with an emerging author friend whose chap book on dealing with miscarriage goes into pre-pub sales this month.

As a bonus goal, I've got a short story (under 2K words) that I'm trying to decide what to do with. I've never dabbled in this area before, so if anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear 'em!
