I am starting a new series on my blog and here in the forum called Wisdom Wednesdays. Each Wednesday, I will be posting a reflection on how you can ensure that your writing career is as internally worthwhile to you as possible. Then later, I will take stock of my reflections and put them together into an e-book.

Many writers love what they do. They look forward to their time as writers when they can sit down and just let their ideas flow. Some days will be better than others. However, being a writer is one of the best professions in the world. It really is! Do you ever stop and reflect on that, or do you just take your writing life for granted?

After coaching writers for over a decade, I have discovered that many writers simply take the privilege of writing for granted. They arrive at their time to write, and they simply sit down and write. They don’t stop and reflect on how lucky they are to be writing.

However, some writers really do love what they do. They look forward to their writing time every day, and when the time comes, they are eager to sit down and get to their writing. They don’t fret or stew. Sometimes they even leave all our troubles at the door and use writing as an outlet from all their stressors.

Where do you fit in within this continuum? Are you a writer who just takes your writing time for granted or are you one of these people who really love your writing time and look forward to it? Do you enjoy every minute of your writing and celebrate it? Or do you find writing difficult and challenging?

Take some time to reflect on this today. And if you wish, please let me know where you are on this continuum when we meet for our coaching session. If you haven’t set up a coaching session with me, please do so that I can help you fall in love with writing.

Try it!
