In this class, a New York Times bestselling author of erotic romance explores how to write romance hot enough burn the pixels off the screen.
She discusses the creation of characters with the kind of intense sensuality needed in erotic romance; building a believable erotic attraction that gets them into bed without turning either of them into a slut; designing a plot in which sex plays a major role in the plot without morphing into porn; and crafting an evolving romance with intense sexuality.
She’ll cover the use of everything from setting to sensual detail to BDSM. Most importantly, she’ll discuss how to give readers something they haven’t seen before.

5a Bonus Lesson—External and Romantic Conflicts in Contemporary Erotic Romance
6. Using Linda Howard’s "12 Steps to Intimacy" to build a strong romance in and out of bed.
7. Sex scenes that advance the plot and romance.
8. Writing dialogue that’s both sexy and sounds natural.
9. Using sensual details to build reader involvement
10. Sex on the edge: incorporating BDSM, paranormal, or other unusual elements to add interest. I interviewed several people involved in the lifestyle to write this lesson.
10a. Bonus Lesson on the techniques of BDSM with Dr. Charley Ferrer, a Domme.
11. Writing dominants and submissives with author Joey W. Hill
12. What’s selling in Erotic Romance today? How do you target publishers?
13. Polishing your prose: how to craft writing that sings.
Knight will post lessons on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Questions are more than welcome.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, you’re invited to submit scenes for critique.
