After finally reaching the Sylonia River, the capital is only a couple of weeks away on river boat. Leaving most of their new friends behind, they make their way north and discover the splendor and darkness of the large city, Tor Sylonia.
To safely experience the intimate encounters she was too afraid to pursue in real life, Gillian Lawrence, crack digital security analyst and part-time hacker, breached a high-security virtual reality simulation prototype, uploading her consciousness for a quick weekend escapade.
She was supposed to be long gone before anyone noticed her physical presence. She couldn’t have anticipated the facility-wide viral attack that corrupted the VR lab’s AI, Sheila, who was modeled after an erotic film actress, or her intense interest in Gillian’s sexual education inside the simulation.
Together with their friends, they struggle to reach the land’s capital to enlist help in fighting off She’ila Li Kee’s Horde. Along the way, they meet new allies and new enemies. Like the growing complications from the system’s infections, Gillian and Joshua encounter a growing number of stumbling blocks between themselves as well, leaving Gillian to wonder if the bond between them is strong enough to overcome them.

I knocked on the door and looked around, hoping no one saw me. I didn’t want to explain myself. It was not acceptable behavior for a young woman to be seen entering a man’s private chamber at night. In a robe. After longer than I would have liked, the door opened.
“Gillian?” Joshua asked, rubbing his eyes. “Is everything all right?”
His smooth, bare chest caught my attention. At that moment, I wanted nothing more than to run my fingers along his firm, defined muscles. As I reached out to touch him, he grabbed my hand before I could, pulling me into the room. He shut the door behind us.
