Hi all,

How did you do on your goals?

Please let us know.

Also, how are you coming with your mini-challenge?

I hope you all had a GREAT and productive week!

Hi Irene,
I missed my chance to post my goals (snowzilla + kids home from school for 7 days = crazy). BUT, I did make some progress this week!

1) finished the first pass edit of my 50 page proposal and sent to my beta reader for feedback
2) wrote a blog post (Bringing out the best) which is on the group romance blog I participate in: Bringing out the best
3) sat down and read a romantic thriller and downloaded sample chapters for several more for research on tone/pacing.

Personal:
Besides shoveling 24" of snow (!) I managed to make my 10k steps/day goal every day last week! (OK, some nights I was marching in place or jumping on the kidlet's rebounder...but I made it!)

Kids are home Monday (teacher work day), but after that I'm determined to get back on schedule!

In General:
I caught up with most of the things that I was behind in, except for houskeeping and that's okay (by me anyway)
Did all I could for my son. Now it's in the lawyer's hands

Writing:
Almost caught up with Word wonders. Have last weeks HW due today. My schedule was off due to unexpected doctor's appointment and my husband going into the hospital.
I continued to write despite the setbacks but only wrote in bed one night.

I attended 3 sprints this week.
I only edited one query, but I did find the three markets I want to submit to.

Personal:
Had lunch with friends and dinner with family
Kept my head and practiced peace. Excused myself when negativity was indulged in.

This has been a hard week. I've been finishing my last classes for school and so I didn't do as well on my goals as I had hoped. This next week, though, should be a thousand times better.

Greta

Hi Greta,

Okay, that is wonderful! There are times when life just gets in the way! Good for you for regrouping!

Monday starts a new month! So, we will all start again!

Have a GREAT weekend!

Hi Jenna,

You did very well with your goals given that the snow storm hit you hard.

I am glad that you did some writing and that you did your personal goals, despite all the shovelling! GREAT job!

1k/day (may be less because of priorities below) 2k over 5 days (400 words/day)
10k steps/day (may go lower for next few weeks if I can't reach it most days) averaged 8900, down a bit
1 Instagram post/day for Project Life Caught up on Monday, haven't posted since but I'll catch up tomorrow again

PLUS
  • 3 more blog posts (I can do it!) I did 2 this week. The 3 for the month (the mini-challenge goal was 4)
  • 1 article for CT RWA newsletter (on Deep Work) (this is due at the end of Feb, I'm going to aim for next weekend)
  • Chat prep for Wednesday (on Deep Work) done, as is chat prep for this wednesday
  • Continue with Chunking class done, I think it might be over tomorrow
  • Prep for new story starting Feb 1st I have a sketchy plan I'll post in Bootcamp forum but I'm behind here.
I'm going to dial back the goals for next week/month so that I can have more green (goal met) and orange (mostly met) than red (not done), because why can't I have all green? That would be awesome. The only thing stopping me is me making goals that don't match my life and work pace. :cautious:
