Discussion GOALS FOR THE WEEK OF JANUARY 11TH, 2016

I'm streamlining my goals for now:
I'm tracking my hits and "near misses" every day, on the fridge. I believe if I keep at pretty-much one book at a time it will be in significantly better shape by the end of the month.

Also, now that's Irene's upping the blog ante I'll also get a post done by this Sunday, Jan 17th, then sketch out the other 3 for the month.

Hi Lisa,

I love your goals. They are definitely doable and concrete!

You will definitely achieve them!

And enjoy the blog challenge! It will be great for you!

Okay, I just found this post.

I'm in Hawaii this week and working on edits while my husband is at his meeting. I probably won't be at tomorrow's chat because we'll be off looking at the volcano or something.

Eating right is always a challenge while traveling. I have to eat a high protein, no grains, otherwise only fruits and veggies kind of diet. Which is why I rarely eat in restaurants. in these fancy resorts, it's a real pain trying to eat like that. I usually stay in places with kitchens. My husband ran back to bring up yogurt and fruit from his continental breakfast this morning.

On the plus side. I'm getting some walking exercise everyday. I'm kind of a gimp. Who am I kidding...I'm a gimp. So normal stuff for other people is often too much for me. So that's the other challenge, to keep healthy and not overdue so I can enjoy life. But, I'm happy.

I realized yesterday I needed business cards. Ran into a lady at a park (we were watching whales breach) and blah blah, what are you doing here, blah blah, oh you're a writer what do you write, oh, your book is coming out, what is it, what is your name, blah blah...

and she's writing it in her phone. Turned out my husband knew her brother - small world. Long story short...I need business cards. I'm soooo not a social person because I don't get out much, but realized, I need to get stuff like this in shape. I'mwaiting for my cover design, so I can incorporate it into website and cards and facebook page and whatnot.

Okay - sorry - I'm blathering. I guess this is all my assignments rolled in one. I'm not certain, but it sounds kind of introspective and whatnot.

My goal is to build structure into my writing life. I'm using the mini-challenge to get started with daily writing again. I read a craft article each morning and write a response, which can be something it triggers to plot the new manuscript or a revision on the old manuscript. In addition, I've set up a commitment to blog each week and find a new banner for my website. By the end of January, I want the work on my website to be finished, at least for the moment.

I'm currently taking notes on both the new and old manuscripts to begin daily work, one scene of revisions daily in the old until completed and laying out the plot points in the new one. I'm hoping to have this completed by March 1, but I'm a slow plotter, so this date may have to be revised.
