Hi Ladies,

I will be posting 3 short lessons this week and next to help you prepare for NaNo.

Please print off these lessons and follow the tips so that you can be ready to write in November.

You can define your project and what you'd like to complete in your own way in this group. You don't have to write 50,000 words. You can write 20,000 or 25,000 words. Or, you can write a middle grade novel or even picture book. The choice is yours. My goal here is to ensure that you write a new book of some kind in November.

So, if you're ready, please download the attachment for lesson one.

As always, please let me know if you have any questions.

Take care, and see you in the forum!
Irene Roth

Sorry I'm late posting.

Your Assignment

1.
How are you preparing for NaNoWriMo?
I have a general outline (with key scenes) and I’ve already started with 17,541 words.

2.
Do you plan your writing goals now?
Absolutely!

3.
Do you keep changing your writing goals once they are set?
Normally I change my goals when I fall behind, however for NaNoWriMo I can stay on target. However it’s been a few years since I’ve participated. But I know I can do it!!

4.
Do you try and clean the house, call your neighbour, answer the door, check email or anything but write during your scheduled writing time? How can you change that habit?
In the past I've had more time to write. This year I 'm working two jobs so finding time will be a little harder. I will set an alarm on my iPhone to try and keep on task. Oooh look, shinny object!

5.
Did you ever participate in NaNoWriMo? If yes, how did it go for you?
Yes and I do really well. I think there was only one year I didn’t finish my 50,000 words, so I think it was a success.
