Hi ladies,

What are your goals for the week of July 1st and beyond?

Look at the whole month, and then do a worksheet for this month and get a sense of what you would like to complete this year, which is merely 6 months away. You want to ensure that you have the strongest second part of 2019 ever! (I will include some worksheets for your convenience.)

And I am here to help you achieve this!

Have a great week!
Irene S. Roth

My goals for July are:
  • Complete plot surgery on Scenes 1 and 2 of AMLDM novel
  • Edit Scene 2 of same with character's voice, and fix poor readability.
- Start plot surgery on Scene 4 of same.
- Write every morning, first thing.
- to stay balanced and practise extreme self-care
- to stay connected with my WIP.

Secondary goals:
- Read the 10-page outline of novel 'Never look back', spend 3-5 hours thinking about how plot can be freshened up and strengthened. Jot down changes on hard copy.
- Draft a short story - see what you get after 5 hours total work, done here and there.
- Look at companies who might buy the short.

I want to build habits this summer. So I have non-writing goals that are there to facilitate the writing goals:
- Plan out the week each Sunday - put the knowns of each of my life compartments (family, writing, work), then earmark the alone time, schedule it onto the planner too. Find a quiet day on your planner - put a pin in this spot to do an activity that fills the well (30 mins at least). Put it in the plan, give it a rough sizing and make sure there's lots of wiggle room around it.

It would be nice to become more aware of the free time that results from planning and from sticking to the plan. That happened for me today, miracle of miracles, and it was incredible.
