Hi all,

Its hard to believe, but we are moving up to the halfway mark in the month. Friday is February 15th!

That said, what are your goals for this week? Please post them under this thread.

Take care, and have a great week!

Hi Irene,

My goals for this week are to finish my outline for book 3 of my superhero series and work on that non-fiction ebook. :-D

I might change topics. I haven't gotten very far in writing and while I like the categories I've chosen, keeping it light in tone is proving hard. I think it's doable, but will likely take longer than a couple weeks and the point of this exercise, I think, is something quick that I could do. So I'm going to go back to brainstorming topics.

Also, how in the world is it the 10th already?

Hi Mel!!

Great goals.

Good idea about brainstorming more topics. I will be sprinting this week too.

Okay, so I made my list for the ebook assignment today... and circled back to the book about Spanish. For the citations, I don’t think I even need to pull out the books and articles, but just pull up my notes for my qualifying exams. I did the outline/table of contents too and started writing one of the sections.

So, revised goal for the ebook — write three sub sections, even if they’re not all in one chapter.

Ps happy Valentine’s Day

I figured my notes in the chat would disappear, but instead of copy pasting your documents into scrivener, you can import them and then split them at the scene or chapter breaks. This would let you import your whole WIP at once, and then just search for say "Chapter" and split it with a keyboard command there. The keyboard commands might be different on the PC, but I would think the menu bar (as in the linked screenshots) should be the same.

Also, I'm curious (or nosy, you can just ignore my question), but how did you get into writing picture books? I have a little one now and have some ideas, but don't know how to proceed.

My goal for this week is survival!

Joking. (sorta)

School's already cancelled for today and will probably be at least delayed tomorrow; the hubby is out of town; my mom is here; and I've got some more client work rolling in. So it feels like another week when writing goals will have to be achieved within the 06:30-08:00 window each day.

1. Write this week's blog article and prepare some promo material in advance
2. Hone my pitch for the sweetheart pitchfest
3. Start revisions in MG ms on nature of the magic realm
