Hi ladies,

We are in the last eight business days of the month.

What are your goals for this week?

Start looking over your August goals and schedule them. I will be asking for them next week.

Take care, and have an awesomely productive week!

Had an alright week of work last week, here are the goals for this week:

8 hours on novel edits;
2 hours on 'Never look back' novel, doing high level plot revision
Early nights Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (in bed by 9, asleep by 10)
1 hour plotting August's goals
1 hour reading Lesson 3's notes.
1 hour assessing current goals/progress and planning next week's goals/progress.
4 hours drafting the short: I can't seem to find a block of 4 or 5 hours this week in which to draft the short. The best I can do is do 2 hours on both Wednesday and Thursday, from 10.30am-12.30, so this makes my last goal.

Thanks - Nikki.

Holy cow! Where did this week go?!? And last week???

I made two out of my four goals last week, so not my best showing ever. And here I am clocking in for this week only at the very end. But I'll keep plugging away.

I've revised a couple of my previous goals. Rather than submitting to UK agents while I'm here, I'm going to try to learn more about the UK MG market and get smart on some local comp titles. That work is already in progress.

Also, after stewing and stewing I resubbed to an agent from whom I'd gotten mixed messages (you know the one, Irene). After almost a week this time, I got...another rejection. But it was personalized at least and I think demonstrates that I need to take another look at my first chapter, since I seem to fail to be grabbing anyone with those pages.

So, with that in mind, I'm looking for some heartfelt critiques. If anyone feels up to taking a look at the first chapter of an MG magical realism (or maybe it's contemporary fantasy, i just can't decide), I'd welcome the feedback.

Otherwise, with a day left on the clock for this week, my goal is to do some writing tomorrow and review my goals for July to see what still remains before the month is gone for ever.
