Christmas is a magical time of year, and people love celebrating those traditions and seeing them play out vicariously via characters they love. After all, who doesn't love cocoa, jammies, and a Hallmark movie marathon at Christmas time. However, how do you write the perfect Christmas-themed book?
This class will look a bit at some of the wide variety of Christmas traditions around the world, as well as some of the favorite tropes of Christmas-set books, including themes like snowed in, holiday contest, going home to that small town for Christmas, and Christmas magic integrated in the form of elves and the man in the red suit himself. Come along, and find a way to channel your favorite memories, traditions, and holiday spirit for a chance to create memorable and popular Christmas-set novels.

- Savvy Authors' workshops are held on a forum: a bulletin board based system. You will receive a reminder notice one day prior to the start of the workshop that includes instructions on how to access the workshop forum. If you have not received instructions by the day the workshop begins, please check your spam filter.
The forum will be available the morning (EST) of the day the workshop starts and will remain accessible to all participants thereafter. You will also be given simple instructions on how to create a PDF of all your discussions along with our privacy and data retention policy.
