We are planning a new event for Savvy, a writing craft book club. Personally, I have so many favorite craft books. There are books everyone knows like GMC, Save the Cat, and Story Genius. I would love to ask the community to tell us what you like to write and list some of your favorite craft books.

Thanks,

Dina Scott

I have too many craft books too! And it's so hard to choose my favorite. I think it depends what I'm working on or why I'm stuck in my story. I think the book that I keep going back to over and over again is GMC by Debra Dixon.

I'm also currently reading Janice Hardy's Understanding Conflict. It's been informative so far, and I just finished Tiffany Yates Martin's The Intuitive Author. I had previously read her Intuitive Editing and loved it.

I LOVE learning about new craft books.

Oh, what a wonderful idea~a book club focusing on craft books. (y)

Love the suggestions so far.

I'll add a couple:
Wonderbook: The Illustrated Guide to Creating Imaginative Fiction by Jeff VanderMeer
Creating Character Arcs by K.M. Weiland
Zen and the Art of Writing by Ray Bradbury
The Emotional Craft of Fiction by Donald Maaas
The Business of Being a Writer by Jane Friedman

I'll stop with these. So many good craft writing book!

June
