We are planning a new event for Savvy, a writing craft book club. Personally, I have so many favorite craft books. There are books everyone knows like GMC, Save the Cat, and Story Genius. I would love to ask the community to tell us what you like to write and list some of your favorite craft books.

I have too many craft books too! And it's so hard to choose my favorite. I think it depends what I'm working on or why I'm stuck in my story. I think the book that I keep going back to over and over again is GMC by Debra Dixon.

I'm also currently reading Janice Hardy's Understanding Conflict. It's been informative so far, and I just finished Tiffany Yates Martin's The Intuitive Author. I had previously read her Intuitive Editing and loved it.

I LOVE learning about new craft books.

Hey amazing writers!

We are going to open registration for our new writing craft book club in the near future. I'll post the link as soon as registration is open.

We will set up a poll for our first read and schedule our first meet up. We will plan to start reading the craft book in January.

I'd love you to consider adding my forthcoming book to the craft book pile. Mine is different: It doesn't tell writers how to write (you've got plenty of those). It inspires and encourages them to manage their self-doubts as writers--and that's why it belongs on every writer's shelf. Wrangling the Doubt Monster: Fighting Fears, Finding Inspiration. This sounds like an exciting and informative club to start in January. I'm more of a beginner writer working on my first mystery novel, and am currently working through K.M Weiland's Structuring Your Novel workbook. I've found it to be very helpful, very accessible.

I've bought other books but haven't read yet: The Emotional Craft of Fiction (Donald Masse), and Mastering Suspense, Structure, and Plot (Jane Cleland). I'd love to hear if anyone has read these.

I'd like to know about other craft books. Thanks for creating this group.
