Hi there! I'm Lana. I write... I guess it'd be called mainstream fiction or "love stories". Several people who have read my books claim they like my stories, but they hate romance novels. So I've spent the past few years trying to figure out what to call my books. "Women's fiction with romantic elements" seems too high brow for what I write. (No offense meant toward women's fiction writers. I love reading it, I just don't think I'm delving that deeply into my characters' psyche to warrant such a title.)

I'm pretty sure that if I market my books as romances, readers will be disappointed because I don't really nail that genre either. So, my goal for the rest of this year is to figure out how to plant myself SOLIDLY in the romance genre. And I feel in order to do that, I need to start networking with other romance writers and readers.

However, I'm an introvert. I struggle to connect to people, so it's really hard for me to jump into a group setting and say, "Hey, I need a friend or mentor that can guide/shove me in the right direction."

My first novel was published by a small e-publishing company in 2009. We parted ways amicably right before I finished revising my second novel. Since our parting, I've been focused on indie publishing. I've released a total of seven novels. My eighth novel is in the editing/revising process and I hope to release it by the end of the year.

I look forward to getting to know all of you. Hopefully, I'll get over my fear of people laughing at me and start networking.

I'm an unpublished author and finished my first novella. I sent the manuscript to a publisher who referred me to this site. They loved the concept of my story but suggested that I connect with other authors here.

I would like a critique partner, but my disclaimer is this; my last English class was in my Junior year of high school 78-79 a period of time I like to call it the Jurassic Period. LOL

My name is Julie Shelton and I write BDSM erotic romance, some Menage, some straight MF. My first erotic novel, Loving Sarah, was published by Siren Bookstrand on November 28, 2012 and since then I've written and published ten more, both under my name and under the pen name A. J. Steele.

My writing has run the gamut from fairies in the garden at age 9 to handcuffs in the boudoir at age 69. In the years between I managed to graduate cum laude with a B.A. in French from Georgia State University followed by a Master’s Degree in Library Science from Emory University. Having thus procured those two necessary but ultimately irrelevant pieces of paper, I launched a successful career as a children’s librarian, followed by an even more successful career as a professional storyteller and puppeteer. In 1991 I published Kidstuff, an award-winning, monthly newsletter, as well as a book, Puppets, Poems and Songs, both major language arts resource for early childhood educators.

At various points in my life, when asked what I wanted to be, my answer would have been (in rough chronological order, since some of these lofty ambitions overlapped): a fairy, a princess, a ballerina, Nancy Drew, Cherry Ames, a paleontologist, Scarlett O’Hara, thin and beautiful, an actress, and a writer. Now, at age 73, my answer to that question is, “younger”.

Followed closely, of course by bestselling author. Oh, and a princess. Some dreams die hard.
