- SHORTSTORYROTH
Few pleasures are as wonderful as reading and writing stories. It is a haven of sensory detail and mysterious bliss. Civilizations around the globe have used stories to preserve history and define heroes. The impulse to tell stories is no less strong today.
Writers of short stories usually write for two main reasons—but there are others. One is that they have something they want to say. The other, equally compelling motive is that they have something they want to find out. Writing is a mode of exploration that fulfills these purposes and whatever other purpose we have.
Through stories we can examine and come to terms with our own ideas, insights, and experiences. In the process of writing a story, we achieve a little better understanding about our world, our fellow humans, and ourselves. When someone reads what we write, we can share a bit of that understanding. What’s more, writing a story can be such great fun!
In this workshop, I will be showing you how to capture that insightful moment of writing and how to complete your short story within a month. You will also have a chance to polish your story and give it life.
This workshop will be interactive. I will be posting lessons a few times a week. After each lesson, there will be questions for you to answer. Through the questions, you will be starting the process of writing your short story. I will also be with you at the end of the workshop if you have questions on how to edit a final draft of your story and I will offer you ideas as to where to submit it. I will have one live chat during the workshop as well.
So, sharpen your pencils or fire up your computer and please join me for this wonderful workshop that will create a love of writing in your heart that will never be extinguished.
