Traci Carter, a twenty-year resident of Northern Virginia, is a writer and pediatric nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Thiel College in Greenville, Pennsylvania, a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and a Creative Writing Certificate from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She has lost count of online and in-person writing courses. Traci is a veteran of the USAF Nurse Corps and currently works with children of military families. To expand her network of writer friends, she volunteers with writers’ clubs as a social media/communications liaison, participates in a national author’s book club, and is actively engaged in a local critique group.
Traci (writing as Truest Carter) has published in professional journals, anthologies, and online serials. She is a recent winner of the Golden Nib Poetry Prize. Her 1920s story was published in the Hearts Through History anthology this fall. Lately, she obsesses about writing historical romance novels with a women's rights theme. She’s very serious about her genre and trademarked her brand tagline.
Traci uses writing and researching as an excuse to travel. She especially enjoys recharging on hikes in the breathtaking Shenandoah Mountains with her husband and their energetic rescue dog, Scruffy.
