In this workshop, you’ll come to understand the inner workings of a plot twist, what makes them so popular, and how to effectively pull them off in your own writing. Whether you’re crafting a mystery, a thriller, or even a romance, a well-done plot twist can surprise your readers without making them feel cheated or confused.
- Lesson One: The Structure of a Plot Twist - Learn how a plot twist is structured and why the greatest plot twists both feel like a surprise and something that was coming all along
- Lesson Two: The Reveal - Learn effective ways to reveal a plot twist that feels natural in the setting and tone of your story.

- Savvy Authors' workshops are held on a forum: a bulletin board based system. You will receive a reminder notice one day prior to the start of the workshop that includes instructions on how to access the workshop forum. The forum will be available the morning (EST) of the day the workshop starts and will remain accessible to all participants thereafter. You will also be given simple instructions on how to create a PDF of all your discussions along with our privacy and data retention policy.
